Atkins Shakes Review

Introduction

Atkins Advantage Shakes Product ImageWhen it comes to losing weight, one of the most popular diet plans to follow is the Aktins Diet. This high-fat, low-carb diet is capable of delivering great results for those with the discipline to stick to it, however it can be very difficult to reduce your carbohydrate intake without rigorously planning out your meals – this is where the Atkins Advantage Shake comes in handy.

In this Atkins Shake review, we’re looking at what the product has to offers consumers.

Readers please note that statements on this page are fair comment based on observation. This content is produced on a matter of public interest. Statements on this page are our honest opinion.

What Are Atkins Shakes?

Atkins Shakes, also known as Atkins Advantage Shakes, are a low-carbohydrate meal replacement/protein shake created by a US-based company named Atkins Nutritionals, Inc.

At the time of writing this review, Atkins have an A+ rating on the Better Business Bureau and have no unresolved customer complaints filed against them.

As this product has been created by the same people who created the Atkins Diet, it probably won’t come as too much of a surprise to find out that these shakes are designed fit directly into that diet as replacements for daily meals. You can purchase it online via the official Atkins Shakes website, Walmart, GNC and Amazon.

Users of the Atkins Shakes are meant to replace up to three daily meals, thus ultimately lowering daily calorie and carbohydrate intake which in time may result in weight loss.

Consumers of this product are not directly promised any weight loss results, however the shakes are marketed as a low-calorie, low-carb meal alternative that can help you reduce your daily calorie intake without needing to painstakingly plan out a low carbohydrate meal schedule. In this respect, it is more of a convenience product than a bonafide “fat burning shake”.

Does the Atkins Shake Work?

Based on our research into this product, we believe that it may be useful for those looking to lose weight, however it must be used in the correct manner or will likely not deliver any results.

Firstly, to clear up any misconceptions you may have with the Atkins Shakes – they are not “weight loss shakes” strictly speaking; the formula inside the Atkins Advantage Shake doesn’t contain any ingredient that directly and independently “burns fat”, nor does it contain anything that’s specifically designed to cause long-term appetite suppression.

The Atkins Shakes literally are just low carbohydrate meal replacement drinks – nothing more, nothing less.

The weight loss results you get from this product depends entirely on your ability to strictly follow The Atkins Diet. As the name implies, they’re designed to be used while following The Atkins Diet, which is a low-carb, high fat & protein diet that limits the users daily caloric intake. The theory is that by reducing your daily calorie intake and lowering your daily carb intake, the body will start to use its fat reserves at a primary source of energy, which will result in gradual fat loss over a sustained period.

Are There Any Atkins Shakes Reviews From Customers?

We have found the following Atkins Shake review testimonials:

Loving this shake. First time I tried the shake I did everything wrong. I didn’t use enough water and tried mixing it manually!! Tasted horrendous and I thought I’d made a mistake buying the stuff but when I added more water (taking it up to about 400 mls) and got out my hand (or stick) blender it made all the difference. Really lovely. It’s not ever gonna taste like a ‘chocolate milkshake’ but its still really enjoyable. I’ve now started to add 10g of chia seeds to it. Loving the energy and fullness I get but saying that I’m loving my atkins diet too!

Surprised at how tasty and thick this is (I used 2 scoops in 250ml water, with a few ice cubes). I blended it, which made it really smooth – not sure what it would be like without a blender though, perhaps a bit powdery. It seems very filling too, so I will be ordering again!

This is really powdery and does not mix well with water or milk. It has a really powdery aftertaste and it is lumpy. Does not really taste like chocolate either, more like sweet burnt toast with a bit of cocoa.

Our Final Verdict On Atkins Shakes

To conclude our Atkins Shake review, it’s a bit of a mixed bag – there are things that we like about the Atkins protein shakes and things that we aren’t particularly impressed with.

Firstly, it’s a genuinely helpful shake if you’re looking for a low-carb meal replacement to support your Atkins Diet, however we feel that the shake’s formula is just lacking in several different ways.

The shakes don’t contain any “fat burning” ingredients and certainly won’t deliver quick weight loss results – the rate in which you lose weight while using these shakes will be completely dependent on your diet and exercise routine.

We like how affordable the shakes are but remember, these are literally just a convenient, meal-alternate. If you’re looking for an “advanced weight loss shake” then you’ll probably need to look elsewhere.
