Introduction
Nowadays it’s becoming increasingly difficult to eat healthy, which explains why nutrient-packed meal replacement shakes have boomed in popularity. One such product, Purition claims to be “pure wholefood shake that contains ingredients even your grandmother would recognize”.
In this Purition review we’re taking an in-depth look at what these shakes are all about and whether or not they’ll deliver you good weight loss results.

What Is Purition?
Purition is a line is meal replacement shakes produced by a UK-based company named Purition Ltd.
One 500g pouch of Purition costs £22.95, contains 12.5 servings, and will last users between 4-14 days, based on how many meals they replace each day (the recommend amount for a meal replacement diet would be 3 – breakfast, lunch and dinner).
The formula is a complex of real powdered foods – hence the shakes being referred to as “wholefood shakes”. Purition themselves describe their shakes as an effective weight loss shake that’s high in protein and low in carbs.
It can an be ordered from the official Purition homepage, as well as Amazon.
Does Purition Work?
The answer to this is yes and no. If you replace breakfast, lunch and dinner with a Purition shake then you’ll more than likely lose weight due to your VLCD.. the problem here is that you’re basically starving the weight off yourself, which is unhealthy. What’s more is that once you return to consuming a regular diet you’ll more than likely see a lot of the weight return.
Purition doesn’t contain any groundbreaking weight loss ingredients inside its formula which is very disappointing. Sure it contains a bunch of “nu-age” dried food ingredients, but that’s not what good weight loss shakes are about. A good weight loss shake is formulated with ingredients to deliver weight loss to the users.. leave the hipster ingredients out.
There is nothing to boost metabolism and anything to suppress appetite and help with the massive hunger cravings users will no doubt experience. For these reasons we believe that most people will not have success using Purition shakes for weight loss.
The Pros & Cons Of Purition
Below we’ve listed everything that we believe could be viewed as either a positive or negative:

- Low in calories – useful for a VLCD shake-diet.
The Cons

- May not keep appetite at bay for very long.
- Somewhat expensive to maintain longterm usage of.

Are There Any Purition Reviews From Customers?

OMG this tastes disgusting. Vile and putrid, I’m not sure there is anything I can do to help disguise the taste. It took all self control not to retch while drinking it.
Flavour: Macadamia & Vanilla | Verified Purchase
I received an email asking me if I was happy with the purchase so I replied that I wasn’t but had no reply. The macademia bits make this impossible to drink – even when blended. Taste isn’t very nice either. Expensive mistake 🙁
Flavour: Macadamia & Vanilla | Verified Purchase
I’m not totally convinced by the taste of this. I made it with soya milk but I think almond milk might be better. Plus, I normally make my shakes up in the morning and leave them in the fridge at work for lunch. But by lunch the shake had the consistency of cold porridge.
The main issue with these shakes is that a lot of people are finding issue with the taste.
Our Final Verdict On Purition
To conclude our Purition review, we do not believe this product is very good for weight loss both in the short term and the long term. The formula does not contain any proven fat burning or appetite suppressing ingredients. Users who follow the recommended three shakes per day guidelines will be met with extreme hunger and very low energy, which will probably prove to be a major downfall, persevere and you’re likely to lose weight however.
This product is very expensive for what is essentially just a protein shake with added extras.
